I love to read what I write, especially LGBT fantasy. But I need a happy ending!

My readers would be surprised to know that I…

Can’t watch scary movies at all. I have to hide my face and watch my kids’ expressions to know when it’s safe to look up.

Exclusive Half Broke by A. E. Wasp

You should pick up Half Broke because…

it is a great place to get introduced to the world of Red Deer, Colorado and the men and woman who live and love there. More than 2.5 million men and women have served in such campaigns as Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, risking their lives and making huge sacrifices since 9/11. I wanted to highlight the issues they and the people who love them face as they return home.

Describe Half-Broke in one word: Hopeful.

The best part about being an author is…

The community of writers and readers. I’ve been in a lot of other industries, and the best friends I’ve ever made in my life, I’ve made through writing. I can’t imagine a more supportive, brilliant, funny, helpful group of people.

Author Name:

Jen Doyle

Any (not-so-secret) pen names:

Favorite genre to write:

Contemporary Romance

Favorite genre to read:

Romance – all kinds (Contemporary, historical, etc. You name it, I’m there). I’m also a big mystery/thriller fan.

My readers would be surprised to know that I…

got my start in Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan fiction back in 2001. I wrote as a hobby for over ten years before submitting my first manuscript for publication. That didn’t work quite so well, LOL, but one year later I had written what would eventually become my debut novel, CALLING IT, which was published in April 2016.

Last Call by Jen Doyle

You should pick up LAST CALL because…

It’s a short and sweet story about high-school sweethearts who have hit a bit of a bump in the road, and, after a lifetime of being absolutely sure about their future together, now need to confront the reality of where they are now and where they want to be. Or, rather, whether they want to end up there together. It’s also intended as an introduction to Inspiration, Iowa, the setting of my CALLING IT series. And there’s a cameo appearance by Max “Deke” Deacon, the bartender at the local watering hole-and also, incidentally, the hero of CALLED UP, Book #2 in the series.

Describe LAST CALL in one word:

Sweet

The best part about being an author is…

I’ll add in the part – the best part about being a romance author 🙂 because one of my favorite things is to recreate those emotional moments in the early stages of a relationship. That first meeting. The moment you realize that the person standing in front of you is someone you’re connected to in a whole different way, even if you’ve known them forever. The journey it takes to reach that happily-ever-after. I’m very happily in love with my husband and have no interest in traveling that road again in real life, LOL, but to create those moments over and over again on paper-and then bring them to readers-is wonderful and amazing.
