Slavery, or mate to an Alien Commander? Which would you choose?

Paris had lost her parents at a young age and instead of going into the foster system, she ended up on the streets. Sure, life was tough for a 17-year-old girl with no one to turn to, but she made her way on the streets of Los Angeles for years. That is, until one day when she was no longer on the streets, or even on Earth

Commander Venay of the V’Zenian Empire was a man on a mission. It was his responsibility to ensure a good lot of human slaves made it back to his planet each year. But this time it was different, he saw her across a field and knew he had to have her, at all costs.

The choice was simple, Paris could be a slave on the V’Zenian home world, or she could become Venay’s mate and provide him with the offspring his people so desperately needed! Until the V’Zenian’s most venomous rival, the Zateelians, attacked Venay’s ship and forced them to crash land on a distant planet. Paris had a new choice to make: save herself or help Venay exterminate aliens who have a sinister plan for the humans.

A Keeper’s Tale by JA Andrews

A Keeper's Tale by JA Andrews

Tomkin Thornhewn, youngest son of the Duke of Marshwell, has a problem: he’s not heroic.

Regardless of his aspirations, the bookish, untrained young man is better suited to recording the deeds of heroes than being one himself.

Which becomes an obvious problem when he finds himself clinging to a ledge above a sleeping dragon. And instead of wielding his family’s great sword with valor and skill, he drops it—onto the dragon.

The problem grows immeasurably worse when Tomkin himself falls off the ledge—also onto the dragon.

And his problem reaches its peak when Tomkin, after being captured, discovers a maiden locked in a tower. But this is no sweet damsel. Not only does she refuse to be rescued, she refuses to even admit she’s in distress.

It’s too bad for the people of Marshwell that Tomkin is the only thing standing – or falling – in the dragon’s way.

The picture of Rocketman is of the character Commando Cody, whose serialized adventures graced Saturday matinees in theaters across the US in the 50s. We young lads would beg our local ice cream shop for empty five-gallon containers so we could cut out holes for our eyes and mouth, and we’d have such fun imitating Commando Cody’s adventures.

And here I thought I was the only one who still remembers Commando Cody. He runs, he jumps and launches himself at a 45 degree angle, arms stretched forth over his head. Talk about non-special effects!
